The Processing Specialist is responsible for two critical stages of the loan lifecycle; coordinating front end due diligence on loan requests prior to entering underwriting status and completing back end due diligence post approval to ensure a smooth and successful loan closing. *Hybrid Position*

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Complete basic collateral review and data entry into a 3rd party system to acquire reports for submission to underwriting.
  • Utilize DocuSign to send out conditional loan approvals to borrowers and brokers.
  • Complete due diligence up front to review loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Review loan approvals to ensure compliance with processing standards.
  • Draft commitment letters with necessary conditions for loan requests.
  • Correspond with Borrowers & Brokers to secure all conditions outlined in commitment letter.
  • Order title and work closely with agents to identify and resolve title issues.
  • Prepare LaserPro loan documents.
  • Assists in the development of new business for APEX. Is alert to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services. Directs customers to appropriate person to establish business relationships.
  • Coordinate and prepare all parties for loan closings including requesting payoffs as needed.
  • Draft closing instructions to be sent to title company.
  • Maintain accurate checklists, fee ledgers and accurate notes in regarding the status of files.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Essential Functions

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer terminal with repetitive motion. Physical requirements of this position are considered sedentary work involving preparing documentation, preparing, and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, and resolving inquiries. Some amount of mobility to access files, attend meetings, both on and off site, and perform property inspections is necessary. The employee is expected to converse with internal and external customers and exchange information.

Knowledge - Skills & Abilities

  • A minimum of 2 years commercial real estate/title work/processing or similar experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and balance time sensitive priorities.
  • Teamwork oriented mindset.
  • Excellent work ethic, including accountability, sense of urgency, and ability to problem solve.
