Hatch Bank is a technology-first sponsor bank, primarily focused on serving Fintechs and other innovative Brands to bring creative solutions to market.  We are looking for a leader for our Enterprise Risk and Compliance Team as we expand our Third-Party Relationships, and the diversity of programs offered. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver, solution-driven, to devise a risk management framework that supports innovation while mitigating risks to the bank and our strategic partners. The primary functions of a Lending Compliance Specialist are to provide support for the compliance management system of Hatch Bank by ensuring that policies and procedures comply with federal, state and local law and regulations to minimize regulatory and legal exposure. Support monitoring initiatives of compliance team as it relates to third-party partners and their programs. Perform testing on third-party relationships, ensuring accuracy with processes and regulatory compliance, as well as following up on outstanding/negative results.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Conduct monthly program testing on lending compliance responsibilities related to third-party relationships (TPR’s) to ensure compliance with established protocols, associated regulations and agreed upon metrics
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of regulations, especially regarding new and/or updated regulatory changes, as well as promote the proper implementation of such, including the completion of required compliance training.
  • Monitoring and issues management related to the Bank’s data driven compliance (DDC) quality control reviews, working with TPR’s to resolve identified issues.
  • Conduct monthly fair lending reviews, analysis, and provide reporting relative to each TPR’s loan origination and application data.
  • Track the Bank’s CRA performance, prepare reporting and maintain relevant documentation on eligible CRA activities.
  • Assists in updating policies, procedures, operations manuals and job aides for all lending compliance-related functions
  • Performs other duties as needed

 

Essential Functions

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer terminal with repetitive motion.  Physical requirements of this position are considered sedentary work involving preparing documentation, preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, and resolving inquiries.  Some amount of mobility in order to access files, attend meetings, both on and off site, and perform property inspections is necessary.  The employee is expected to converse with internal and external customers and exchange information.

Knowledge - Skills & Abilities

    • 5+ years of compliance experience in bank lending compliance and operations and/or Third-Party Relationship’s (Fintech’s) oversight, with excellent technical and analytical skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to support internal and external relationships
    • Superior time management and organization skills with the focus on meeting deadlines
    • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office including ability to review and interpret data utilizing concepts and tools
    • CRCM Certification (American Bankers Association) (Preferred)
    • Experience with strategic partnerships / credit sponsorships and vendor compliance oversight (Preferred) 

Pay Range: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year. Pay range may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
