The primary responsibilities of this job are to process all daily Wire Desk functions.  This includes all incoming, outgoing, International and settlement wires. This position will also be responsible for all transmissions sent or received via Fedline.

This is a Mission Critical position (ACH/Wires) and could require working on days when Bank is closed, opens late or closes early due to inclement weather. 


  1. Assists in the development of new business for Firstrust. Is alert to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate products and services. Actively sells and prepares staff to sell products and services to potential and existing customers. Drive operational excellence by engaging staff on business strategy and performance results.
  2. Possesses knowledge of corporate products and services to suggest products.
  3. Maintain balances at Federal Reserve to insure daylight overdraft requirements are met on a continuing basis during the course of the processing day.
  4. Maintain Fedline and Payplus security and insure that audit controls are met daily.
  5. Perform Start of Day/End of Day procedures for Fedline and/or Payplus as necessary.
  6. Create or verify International wire transfers through Western Union. Enter wires in Payplus system for posting, OFAC check and PARC reporting and history retention. Perform callbacks to customers. 
  7. Responsible for all Domestic and International wire research requests and investigations, and provide timely updates to management on status of all investigations.
  8. Perform outgoing wire transfer callbacks on recorded lines per audit requirements.
  9. Responsible for daily incoming and outgoing wire settlements.
  10. Responsible for daily end of day wire settlement while maintaining required target balance at the Federal Reserve and end of day procedures in Finastra.
  11. Assist management in testing and documenting new wire procedures/Finastra Releases/Miser Releases, as well as providing written procedures for PayPlus, Fedline and Western Union.
  12. Maintain Fedline and Finastra security and insure audit controls such as dual control are met.
  13. Maintain Wire Agreement files: all logs, reports & customer profiles with wire agreement and callback information.
  14. Provide backup support for all functions of Wire Desk Administrator.
  15. Release and process Street wires in the morning.
  16. Perform checks of the Closed account reports, Daily missing code report, Weekly closed account report and weekly analysis change report to PayPlus account profiles.
  17. Verify wire room recorded line is functioning each morning and afternoon, reporting any issues to Manager.
  18. Responsible for updating and maintaining various Wire spreadsheets and logs daily.
  19. Monitor all of the queues in the Wire PayPlus system to ensure all wires are processed in a timely manner.
  20. Assist with special projects as assigned by Commercial Services Manager.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.


Essential Functions


DECISION MAKINGThis position will require decisions to be made on a routine to moderate basis daily. The incumbent will need to clearly communicate the difficult decisions that need to be made so that daily Wire processing will be completed in a timely manner. 



ACCOUNTABILITYThis position will require accuracy and the use of good judgment as the incumbent will be handling large dollar/high volume transactions.  The incumbent will be responsible for demonstrating teamwork, dependability and high levels of customer service in support of the Commercial Services unit.

Knowledge - Skills & Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED
