    As Team Leader, the primary responsibility of this position is to manage the unit’s workflow while ensuring transactions are assigned based upon team members experience and knowledge level. Manage the quality control process while working with all team members in order to enhance their knowledge and abilities while ensuring turnaround times are met and quality is sustained.

    Assist in the development of new business for Firstrust. Possesses knowledge of corporate products and services and is alert to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services. Directs customers to appropriate person to open account.

    Prepare and work with department staff to prepare documentation within multiple states for all types of commercial credit accommodations including loan/line transactions, letters of credit and modifications. Transactions will be structured accurately based upon the credit approval, outlining terms to repay the debt and secure lien perfection for all types of collateral.

    Management of the Quality Control process for the unit to include timely communication of errors to associate and providing thorough explanation in order to provide the knowledge to eliminate future errors. Mentoring team members to assist in the career development and training of all team members. Tracking of errors to identify training needs within the unit.

    Assist Manager in acting as system administrator for all system software, creating manuals, writing procedures and documenting processes for department. Coordinate documentation and loan repayment structure with lenders, counsel, and others to mitigate the bank’s risk.

    Responsibility for the workflow distribution for the unit to include monitoring the departmental production log to ensure deals are moving along in the documentation process. 

    Backup to Manager in responsibility for accurately preparing and the timely distribution of the bank’s documentation deficiency report.  

    Acts as Liaison between lenders, title companies and other vendors to facilitate and expedite loan closing. Provide assistance for loan closing to lenders by walking them through, if needed, in a step-by-step process.

    Assist in the activities of the consumer loan documentation unit including having a working knowledge  to assist in the preparation and quality control functions of the unit when needed.


    Essential Functions

    While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to do sedentary work a majority of the time. This includes preparing and analyzing data and figures, operating a computer terminal with repetitive motion and handling phone inquiries. The incumbent will move about to various departments to exchange information, discuss policy and communicate directives. The employee is expected to draft and/or compile information for senior management. This position involves positioning oneself to retrieve and lift files and utilize office equipment.

    Knowledge - Skills & Abilities

    • 5+ years experience in a commercial bank’s loan administration/documentation unit.
    • Paralegal degree helpful
    • Experience using documentation software (Laser Pro)
    • Experience working in and/or working with various risk policy and operational groups
    • Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and problem solving skills are required
    • Excellent customer service and client relations skills
    • Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
