  • Objective

    Oversee and ensure the timely, accurate completion of daily loan operations servicing tasks. Provide developmental and managerial direction to an evolving commercial and specialized loan infrastructure. Incumbent is responsible for supporting resource requirements, products and system development, service development, skill training and overall direction of staff members. This includes leveraging systems to achieve maximum efficiency. Ensures regulatory compliance, and is responsible for analysis, solution-oriented recommendations, and planning to meet the strategic needs of the organization. Have strong leadership skills as well as builds and maintain good working relationships with Relationship Managers and other Loan Operations and Administration Managers.

     

    Provide assistance to unit staff members and customers including the research and answering of complex loan structure, system and compliance questions. Maintain current procedures with updates in Knowledge and offer suggestions to SVP, Operations for process improvements. Participate in software upgrades including developing / performing test scenarios, analyzing / reviewing test results and approving process and procedure changes. Maintain good communications on processing and team performance with SVP, Operations.

    Responsibilities/Duties

    Assist in the development of new business for Firstrust. Is alert to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services. Directs customers to the appropriate person to open account. Actively sells and promotes corporate products to potential and existing customers. Possesses knowledge of corporate products and services to suggest products.

    Prioritize daily outstanding loan servicing maintenance and quality control work. Provide SVP, Operations with regular status updates.

    Oversee the monthly completion of the SBA Form 1502 Reporting required by the Small Business Administration as well as other regulatory reporting requirements as needed.

    Oversee daily assigned production functions as required. This can include completing G/L reconcilements, various daily loan maintenance input, daily data input quality control review, collateral perfection / satisfactions, payment / adjustment processing and wire processing.

    Collaborate with other loan units to ensure proper boarding and review of records. Provide technical support and insight to ensure best use of technology with meeting business goals.

    Ensure timely completion and response to customer inquiries, which could be in the form of a phone call, e-mail or formal letter.

    Advanced knowledge of all systems capabilities with a focus on future development. Work closely with staff to establish and implement effective procedures and controls.

    Stay current on applicable regulatory and Uniform Commercial Code regulations. Assist with related training.

    Assist with developing and conducting internal audit / quality control reviews. Review areas include G/L and system reconcilements, loan data integrity, and adherence to audit controls, collateral processing and exception follow up.

    Provide ongoing feedback to SVP, Operations, staff members and cross functional business partners on performance improvement opportunities and suggestions.

    Conduct / coordinate cross training with staff members to ensure all members understand and adhere to defined procedures.

    Assist other unit managers with system upgrades and other special projects, including but not limited to, test scripts and recommended enhancement requests.

    Active role in accessing system functionality and testing. Identify system limitations and work with management to formulate a resolution and implement plan.

    Essential Functions

    While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee may be required to ascend/descend stairs and work atop a small ladder to store and retrieve files.  The employee will need to position self to lift up to 20 pounds of materials for file maintenance.   The worker sits most of the time, however, some amount of mobility is necessary to accomplish tasks.  The ability to communicate and exchange information verbally and written is required.  The incumbent will operate a computer terminal and phone with repetitive motion, while analyzing or preparing data.  Temperature changes may occur during the work day in the office setting. 

    Knowledge - Skills & Abilities

    4 year college degree in a business or accounting degree preferred

    3 - 5 year experience in an SBA, Construction, ABL or Commercial loan operations position

    Managerial experience is required.

    Possess extensive loan structure, servicing and regulatory knowledge of SBA, Construction and ABL loan products

    Possess strong work habits, attention to detail and ability to work on a team

    Possess a demonstrated commitment to quality service

    Knowledgeable with MS Word and MS Excel. Experience with entire MS Office Suite helpful.
