  • Objective

    The primary responsibilities of this position are to manage a portfolio of existing relationships and develop and underwrite new commercial business under the guidance of the Director and Relationship Managers, while cross selling the Bank’s non-credit products and services. The Portfolio Manager will assist senior officers on larger deals and relationships.

    Responsibilities/Duties

    • Assists in the development of new business for Firstrust. Is alert to expressed customer/ prospect needs and possesses knowledge of corporate products and services, to suggest appropriate services. Directs customers to appropriate person to open account.
    • Supports business line renewal process for existing unit relationships. Work with credit analyst on gathering appropriate financial information, background data to support renewal-underwriting process, including the legal documentation and closing process. 
    • Supports business line in the underwriting and legal documentation process for new client relationships working with the Director and relationship managers.
    • Monitors outstanding credit facilities to ensure complete conformity with financial covenants.
    • Supports Relationship Managers/Credit Analyst in the tracking and review of asset based lines. (Monitor borrowing base certificates.)
    • Supports Relationship Managers/Staff Specialist in the tracking of credit exceptions.
    • Supports Relationship Managers in maintaining a high standard of credit quality. (Portfolio audit/review process).
    • Ensures non-credit financial needs of the unit clients are met by partnering with other area, i.e. Community Banking and Treasury.
    • Develops and maintains active internal and external networks and centers of influence to assist with proactive business development, i.e. current client CPA’s and attorneys.

     



     

     

    Essential Functions

    While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures via a computer terminal.   The incumbent will be expected to retrieve files, compose memorandums and communicate with internal and external customers.   The incumbent is occasionally required to drive a motor vehicle to accompany RMs to various types of customer meetings and property inspections.

    Knowledge - Skills & Abilities

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Related Field preferred.
    • Goal oriented with 10 years experience in commercial banking preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and strong oral, written communication and computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office/Word, Excel, and Outlook
