To ensure timely and accurate completion of daily SBA, Construction and ABL Loan Operations production tasks. Perform advanced daily production tasks as needed or directed by unit manager. Provide first level assistance to unit staff members and customers including the research and answering of complex loan structure, system and compliance questions. Coordinate staff cross training and maintain a current procedures manual. Offer suggestions to unit manage for process improvements. Participate in software upgrades including developing / performing test scenarios, analyzing / documenting test results and documenting process and procedure changes. Keep unit manager apprised of unit performance. Act as a back-up for all unit processes and unit manager.

  1. Prioritize daily outstanding new loan, loan maintenance and quality control work. Provide unit manager with regular status updates.
  2. Oversee the monthly completion of the SBA Form 1502 Reporting required by the Small Business Administration.
  3. Perform daily assigned production functions as required. This can include completing G/L reconcilements, various daily new loan and loan maintenance input, daily data input quality control review, payment / adjustment processing and wire processing.
  4. Collaborate with collateral and insurance team to ensure proper boarding and review of records.
  5. Ensure timely completion and response to customer inquiries which could be in the form of a phone call, e-mail or formal letter.
  6. Answer first level staff questions as they relate to production issues.
  7. Maintain a working knowledge of all aspects of unit. Work with unit manager to develop and maintain a personal training schedule.
  8. Stay current on applicable regulatory and Universal Commercial Code regulations. Assist with related training.
  9. Assist unit manager with developing and conducting internal audit / quality control reviews. Review areas include G/L and System reconcilements, loan data integrity, adherence to audit controls, collateral processing and exception follow up.
  10. Provide feedback to unit manager on staff performance and improvement suggestions.
  11. Suggest process improvements as they are identified.
  12. Conduct / coordinate cross training with staff members to ensure all members understand and adhere to defined procedures.
  13. Assist unit manager with system upgrades and other special projects. This can include developing test scripts,
  14. Active role in accessing system functionality and testing. Identify system limitations and work with management to formulate a resolution and implement plan.


Essential Functions

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee may be required to ascend/descend stairs and work atop a small ladder to store and retrieve files.  The employee will need to position self to lift up to 20 pounds of materials for file maintenance.   The worker sits most of the time, however, some amount of mobility is necessary to accomplish tasks.  The ability to communicate and exchange information verbally and written is required.  The incumbent will operate a computer terminal and phone with repetitive motion, while analyzing or preparing data.  Temperature changes may occur during the work day in the office setting. 

Knowledge - Skills & Abilities

  • 4 year college degree in a business or accounting degree preferred.
  • 3 - 5 year experience in an SBA, Construction or ABL loan operations position.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Possess extensive loan structure, servicing and regulatory knowledge of SBA, Construction and ABL loan products
  • Possess strong work habits, attention to detail and ability to work on a team
  • Possess a demonstrated commitment to quality service
  • Knowledgeable with MS Word and MS Excel. Experience with entire MS Office Suite helpful.
  • Detail oriented. Strong organizational and accounting skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with an excellent degree of versatility and flexibility
