Objective

Directs and coordinates a team of systems/project managers in the evaluation, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of current and proposed management or business systems and support tasks. Has a functional working knowledge of IT hardware and infrastructure to apply to strategic planning and professional partnership with Information Technology team. Defines business needs, functional requirements, analyzes business processes and develops system design. Generally is responsible for more complex applications and application interfaces. Prepares feasibility studies of potential systems/applications for management decision and action. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves problems with operational systems and ensures an ongoing focus on system utilization and leveraging system functionality. Coordinates activities and instructs analysts and others assigned to project. Performs quality assurance on all work products. Interacts with users. Partner with the Information Technology team to ensure our infrastructure, systems, and business line and user interfaces are designed, delivered and supported with our user community and customers in mind and to deliver seamlessly integrated technology solutions.

Responsibilities/Duties

Assists in the development of new business for Firstrust. Is alert to expressed customer/ prospect needs to suggest appropriate services. Directs customers to appropriate person to open account.

 

Evaluates, designs, develops and implements current and proposed applications and system deployments to ensure an IT application environment that supports Firstrust’s current and future business and strategic growth.

 

Oversees team to or may directly function as the day-to-day application support for one or more of Firstrust systems. Applies knowledge of the Firstrust technical environment and understanding of certain business processes to facilitate integration of systems; works with business lines to identify system gaps and communicates new requirements to appropriate vendors; interprets documentation, including upgrades, for business line users to understand features. Partners with business lines to develop project specifications and recommendations.

 

Implement and manage to a formal project management discipline for technical or other organizational projects. As team leader, lead the effort to design project specifications and financial analyses, develop project plans, coordinate efforts, manage to timelines and budgets, and ensure quality output.

 

Coordinates fact finding, analysis, and design of the systems and system integration and applies the most recent developments in business system equipment, technology and methodology.

 

In partnership with the remainder of the Information Technology team and the SVP- Information Technology and with input from the business units, conceives and plans exploratory investigations critical to the overall organization, especially where new or unique concepts are required. Evaluates the significance of technological and methodological advancement and developing standards where new and improved approaches are needed.

 

Manages and coordinates the work of a team of systems and project managers engaged with large or complex systems development or systems implementations tasks. Can prepare schedules and work to deadlines.

 

Has a working knowledge of hardware and network infrastructure to facilitate effective partnership with Information Technology. Familiarity should include but is not limited to: LAN, WAN and Internet environments; SQL database technologies; telecommunication and network infrastructure; and disaster recovery/business continuity.

 

Performs other duties as assigned by the SVP- Information Technology.

 

 

 

Essential Functions

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to move about to different departments and locations to accomplish tasks. The employee will be operating a computer terminal with repetitive motion to prepare and analyze data and create reports. Communicating and the ability to exchange information at all levels are necessary. Exerting or lifting up to 20 pounds of office equipment/materials may be required occasionally.

  • Excellent project management and coordination skills, and ability to excel in a fluid, cross-functional team environment
  • Must be well balanced between the strategic view of the work and the execution aspects of the job
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • PMP certification from PMI® desirable or demonstrable equivalent business experience
  • Banking / Financials Services experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must combine professionalism and enthusiasm in approach to work
  • Strong LAN/WAN, communications and network implementation and management knowledge
